Hi, I'm Yunjin Tak

I want to design interaction systems that translate subtle human signals across senses,
so people with different cognitive and sensory abilities can share the same experience.
I am interested in how interaction can carry meaning without demanding attention.

My interest in multimodal interaction
I am particularly interested in multimodal interaction and how meaning shifts when it moves between sound, vision, touch, and behavior.
Rather than adding features, I focus on choosing the form that communicates most clearly in each context.
Reading nonverbal signals, shaped by context
Growing up in Korea, I became attentive to nonverbal signals such as silence, hesitation, and subtle changes in behavior. This sensitivity has shaped how I identify breakdowns in communication before they are explicitly stated.

How I see users and design
I have always viewed users not as people who lack ability, but as people navigating systems that fail to respond to how they perceive and process information. My work focuses on translating human signals into interactions that can be understood and shared.
